Spiral classifier

Spiral classifiers mainly include high weir type single helix and double helix, low weir type single helix and double helix, and sunken type single helix and double helix classifiers. High weir type and sunken type are commonly used models.

Description

Spiral classifiers are widely used in mineral processing plants to form a closed loop with ball mills to classify ore sand, or to classify ore sand and washed mud in gravity mineral processing plants.

Advantages

Principle

The spiral classifier uses relatively moving propellers to separate materials of different sizes and different settling speeds into layers under the action of gravity. The main structure consists of three parts: transmission device, propeller, and tank body. The specific gravity of different particles in the slurry is different. The coarse ore particles sink to the bottom of the tank and are pushed to the upper part by the spiral and discharged, while the fine ore particles are discharged with the overflow. The grading effect is adjusted by changing the pitch and speed of the propeller.
