Chrome Processing Plant

Chrome is an essential raw material for stainless steel. It is also a metal resource with a wide range of uses. The global chromite resources are distributed in countries such as South Africa, India, Zimbabwe, etc. Chrome processing plants usually include crushing, grinding classification, gravity, and magnetic separation, etc. There are different beneficiation solutions for different chrome ore.

Process Description

1. Crushing
The vibrating feeder transports large rock chrome ore to the stone crusher to get the required particle size. Materials that meet the requirements enter the ball mill, while materials that do not meet the requirements return to the stone crusher for crushing.

2. Grinding classification
The chrome ore ground to the required size by the ball mill flows to the spiral classifier. The spiral classifier will grade and clean the chrome ore with the help of the different densities of solid particles and the different sedimentation rates in the liquid.

3. Gravity Separation
After classification, the chrome ore goes to the jig separator and shaking table for separation.

4. Magnetic separation
If there is magnetic material in the raw ore, we can add a magnetic separator in the process plant to separate the metal materials. If it adopts the flotation solutions, before the chrome concentrate enters the flotation process will be dehydrated by a thickener and then sent to a dryer for drying to obtain usable dry concentrate or further ground for mineral extraction.

    Rock Chrome Beneficiation Process:

    1. The truck unloads the material to the hopper, and the vibrating feeder under the hopper transports the material to the jaw crusher for primary crushing. After crushing, the material size didn’t meet the requirement and returns to the jaw crusher. Materials that meet requirements are transported to the transit hopper.
    2. The vibrating feeder under the transit hopper transports the material evenly to the ball mill. After grinding, the material goes to the spiral classifier for classification.
    3. The material from the spiral classifier goes to the mixing tank for slurry mixing. Then the mixed slurry goes to the shaking table for chrome separation to obtain the chrome concentrate. The tailings go to the tailing tank.
